Position Summary

This position manages day to day operations of insurance verification for all Athletico locations. The Insurance Verification Manager will oversee the daily process within the Central Insurance Verification Team. This position is tasked with ensuring accuracy and timely insurance verification across the Athletico platform. The Insurance Verification Manager will continually educate the workforce on insurance verification and pre-cert requirements.



Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Co-create policy, procedures and tools (i.e. forms, reports etc.) to ensure accurate and prompt insurance verification results for the field, clinics and patients
  • Analyze, strategize, develop, and implement policies and procedures i.e. SOPs in order to enhance and maximize the efficiency of centralized verification
  • Ensure training/coaching/mentoring, work allocation and problem resolution; analyze workload and parity on direct reports’ assignments
  • Communicate insurance company updates to the workforce
  • Review, coordinate and communicate workflows unique to each region and or clinic
  • Provide statistical analysis around data integrity and quality control to the Insurance Verification Team and the Regional Services Managers
  • Monitor validity of patient dempogaphic and insurance information in order to confirm the integrity of data entered into the billing system
  • Follow-up with the ‘field’ or ‘patient’ in order to collect accurate and required data for insurance carriers, government agencies and third party payers
  • Ensure aggressive follow-up with the ‘field’ and ‘patient’ in order to successfully target timely verification
  • Cultivate relationships with insurance carriers and third party administrators
  • Update and disseminate insurance verification protocols to both the field and the Insurance Verification Team
  • Audit staff productivity in order to ensure accuracy in communication and verification process
  • Manage tasking process ongoing in order to confirm daily communication
  • Process reports daily, weekly and/or as needed
  • Provide high level customer service both internally and externally in order to ensure account integrity

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate bi-weekly department meetings and as needed
  • Help lead Billing Center Manager Meetings and Billing Center staff meetings
  • Meet with RSMs and AOM Teams quarterly
  • Perform other duties as required


Qualifications

Education and Experience:  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including proficiency with Excel, MS Word and Outlook
  • Must have prior insurance verification experience
  • Two to three years supervisory and insurance verification experience preferbally in a healthcare environment
  • Knowledge/experience with NG Systems or other medical software systems
